We have all experienced pandemic related distress, and adolescents are no exception. They have been significantly impacted by the disruption of all that was normal to them. The structure and predictability that helped them maintain a sense of control, and the rituals and milestones that reinforced their purpose, have been turned upside down. And what they should be navigating developmentally right now is compromised. Their mental health is taking a hit.
Though the future is brighter, and we know that adolescents are resilient, it's important we stay dialed into the difficulties they face. Grateful to have had the opportunity to talk about this issue on Flashpoint this week. Watch the segment below:
